With this breeding concentrate, a high-quality and effective basis for breeding fruit flies as a source of nutrition for reptiles is produced within seconds, simply by mixing it with warm water. Healthy, high-quality, large feed animals develop thanks for the vitamins contained. Use: 1 part NEKTON-Drosophila-Breeding concentrate is mixed with 1.5 - 2 parts warm water by stirring. The vinegar or fruit fly (drosophila) grow, depending on species or breed, up to 3.5 cm long and approx. 1 mm thick. The male has a black end segment, the female a brown end segment. Approximately the same-sized maggots hatch from the approx. 0.55 mm long and 0.2 mm wide white eggs, which grow to approx. 5 mm long after three molts. Breeding with NEKTON-Drosophila-Breeding concentrate is very easy and does not require much effort. A new formula is prepared without cooking. Use: 1 part NEKTON-Drosophila-Zuchtkonzentrat is mixed or stirred briefly with 1.5 - 2 parts warm water (22-25 °C) - and then the breeding paste is ready. It couldn't get easier than this! No complex cooking, no odors when preparing the paste.Adding a few drops of vinegar (fruit vinegar) accelerates breeding. The thickness of the paste can be controlled by adding water. The prepared paste will liquefy again after a few days. This is intended to provide optimal living conditions for the maggots. The room temperature for breeding should be approx. 22-25 °C. Egg deposition by the fruit flies ceases at higher temperatures.
Complementary feed for green iguanas and herbivores / frugivore reptiles
Vitamin and development compound for green iguanas and herbivores and frugivore reptiles.NEKTON-Iguana contains carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, trace elements and proteins, as well as 18 essential amino acids. NEKTON-Iguana is particularly characterized by all elements that are contained in their fully unlocked form and thus available to the body immediately after it has been administered. NEKTON-Iguana ensures healthy development of the skeletal system, supports the regulated processes of molting processes, protects against nervous system disorders and preserves the functionality of the mucous membranes.NEKTON-Iguana strengthens the body, particularly in stressful situations, e.g. during molting, when settling in with new arrivals or when being moved or transported. By administering NEKTON-Iguana, the nutritional value of normal food improves considerably; NEKTON-Iguana effectively prevents deficiency symptoms and causes a significant increase in activity. No other vitamin compound should be administered whilst using NEKTON-Iguana.The protein contained in NEKTON-Iguana is already broken down into its components, the amino acids, and is thus immediately available for building up natural protein. It contains almost all essential amino acids, thus with this product, the animals' protein needs are sensibly complemented. In addition to these nutrients, vitamins, minerals and trace element are indispensable for maintaining health. Vitamins cannot be produced in the organism itself or only in insufficient amounts and must therefore be added to food from the outside.A shortage of vitamins can lead to serious, irreversible illnesses in animals. Avitaminosis (lack of vitamins) in iguanas leads to a sallow, gray-green skin color and cause the points of the crest to die off and joint swelling. Lack of vitamins from the B complex causes paralysis and convulsions. Other symptoms due to lacking nutritional conditions are, e.g. molting disorders. The vitamin content in NEKTON-Iguana is adjusted to daily food, to cover the animal's entire vitamin requirements.Calcium and phosphates are also extremely important for bone development. NEKTON-Iguana notably includes a high calcium supply; extra vitamin D3 has also been added. Even with a very good supply of minerals, calcium and phosphorous can be stored significantly better in the animal's bones by transferring vitamin D3.Complex usability and smooth, nutritional interaction are guaranteed.

Minerals (major and trace elements) are substances that count as essential , indispensable components in supplied feed for the metabolism of all animals. They must always be present in feed as they are always excreted by the animal. As the term "trace element" suggests, supply of these substances is only necessary in very small amounts (traces).
It is important to supply an animal with a mixture of minerals, which is not only determined by the number and amount of individual substances, but rather by the balance in the composition, oriented towards the needs of the animal's body. Major and trace elements, vitamins and amino acids must support each other and their impact may not have a negative effect. These criteria were taken into consideration when composing
NEKTON-MSA
so that the owner can provide his animals with these elements in the best possible way.
Complementary feed for reptiles, especially ideal for shell carriers

NEKTON-Multi-Rep encourages stable construction and maintenance of the skeletal system, as well as the animal's healthy growth. Signs of paralysis, such as e.g. legs tightening, are prevented by regularly administering NEKTON-Multi-Rep. Thanks for a low vitamin A concentration, this compound is particularly suited for armor-shelled reptiles and amphibians. A well-balanced ratio of calcium and phosphorous ensures a solid bone structure. To prevent and balance nutritional deficiencies and its secondary diseases, NEKTON-Multi-Rep should be supplied at least 1 x per week. No other vitamin compound should be administered whilst using NEKTON-Multi-Rep.Amphibians and reptiles are vertebrate like their aquatic ancestors. Only a small amount from the abundance of orders, families, genera and species from prehistoric times have remained, however a total of around 9,000 species still offer a variety of shapes, colors and characteristics.Today's reptiles and amphibians can be found on all continents and reside in a wide-variety of habitats. Amphibians have not yet been able to fully break away from their ancestors' habitat. As their skin does not have sufficient protection against evaporation, they still mainly have to live in water or near it in damp areas so they do not dehydrate. Even though a few reptiles are water dwellers, their offspring evolve without this interim stage and hatch from eggs as miniature versions of their parents. In most cases, reptile embryos develop fully within the egg and hatch during or shortly after delivery. Because the freshly hatched/new born young animals breath air and also have a solid protective skin, unsuitable for letting the skin breathe, eggs and young animals must be deposited on land. The requirements that must be fulfilled to keep and preserve amphibians and reptiles are diverse. You must first learn as much as possible about the animal's natural habitat to adequately adapt the terrarium. If it is not always possible to fully recreate the natural habitat, you can also keep the animal in the best possible health and ready to reproduce. The most basic conditions for this are: Light, temperature, air, space and nutrition. The requirements of our terrarium animals' types of food are very different. Amphibians are mostly carnivores. Reptiles are carnivores, herbivores or omnivores, depending on the species. Whatever it likes, the most crucial part of nutrition is its ingredients: Carbohydrates (starch, sugar, raw fiber), fats, proteins, minerals (major and trace elements), vitamins, water. Carbohydrates supply energy. A total lack of carbohydrates can damage the composition of the intestinal flora and can result in disruption of vitamin synthesis. As concentrated calorie carriers, fats also supply the necessary energy for the animal's body.An important function of fat in the metabolism is its ability to reabsorb liposoluble vitamins and pro-vitamins. From the fatty acids, unsaturated fatty acids are particularly important because they ensure the undisturbed development of the skin and scales as well as regulating the entire body's water supply. Protein substances of each food consists of different amino acids that cannot be replaced by other substances. The individual amino acids derived from food are suitable for different animals in a variety of ways to build up the body's natural proteins. From the minerals, the following major elements are important: Sodium, potassium, phosphorous, calcium and magnesium. Also important are the trace elements copper, zinc, manganese, cobalt, molybdenum, iodine and iron. They are crucially important for regulating the water supply and for protein metabolism. Chlorides and phosphates must be present in salts. Calcium and phosphates, in balanced proportions, are exceptionally important for bone construction and maintaining stability. The body requires vitamins to support the flow of essential processes. Vitamins resemble catalysts, i.e. they intervene with controlling the metabolism, without actually supplying energy themselves or serve as building material for constructing body cells.A healthy body can only produce a few of them itself and not always in sufficient quantities. If a sufficient quantity is not available, deficiency symptoms begin. A number of defects due to a lack of vitamins are known in amphibians and reptiles. For example, to little vitamin A can lead to eye inflammation or eye damage. Bone damage in amphibians and bone softening in reptiles is caused by a lack of vitamin D. A shortage of the B-complex vitamin is significantly involved in digestive disorders, paralysis and skin damage. To prevent such deficiency symptoms and to be able to offer the animal optimum nutrition at all times, NEKTON has developed a range of products that enable specific care with the various nutrients and active substances.
Pollen in pharmaceutical quality for herbivorous reptiles.
Pollen is packed with bioactive substances, nutrients and active components directly from nature that help the organism in various ways: It has a beneficial effect on the immune system and the blood count, promotes vitality and well-being because it can boost many metabolic processes.Mixed pollen is diverse in its composition. It naturally contains, i.a. short-chain proteins, up to 20 amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, minerals and trace elements such as iron, copper, manganese, zinc and silicic acid (silica), in addition to phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulphur and calcium. It also contains vitamin C, vitamin B1, 2, 6 and 12, as well as biotin, vitamins A, D, E, folic acid, niacin, pantothenic acid, antioxidant polyphenols such as flavonoids, natural sugars, enzymes, plant hormones and many other beneficial substances.
Multivitamin supplement for reptiles and amphibians.
NEKTON-Rep contains 12 vitamins, 6 trace elements, 2 amino acids, and calcium. NEKTON-Rep increases skin formation rate and supports the function of mucous membranes as well as the entire energy metabolism of the animal, promoting growth. Animals with vitamin/mineral deficiencies are usually less active. NEKTON-Rep balances these nutrient deficiencies, making the animals significantly more vital again. Even paralysis symptoms, such as dragging the legs, are prevented by regular administration of NEKTON-Rep. It positively affects the development of muscles, glands, and the nervous system. NEKTON-Rep also increases fertility and the hatching ability of amphibian and reptile embryos. NEKTON-Rep is primarily a high-quality vitamin supplement that, due to its high content of the "epithelial protection vitamin" A (retinol), plays an essential role in forming the body skin and mucous membranes of reptiles and amphibians. Shedding difficulties or even skin diseases are often signs of an insufficient supply of essential vitamins and minerals in this animal group. Amphibians and reptiles are vertebrates, like their aquatic ancestors. From the vast diversity of orders, families, genera, and species of prehistoric times, only a small remnant remains, but still, with about 9,000 species, they offer a wide variety of shapes, colors, and characteristics. Today’s reptiles and amphibians are found on all continents and inhabit various environments. Amphibians have not entirely separated from their ancestors' habitat. As their skin does not provide sufficient protection against evaporation, they still need to live mostly in or near water or at moist land sites to avoid drying out. Even though some reptiles are aquatic, their offspring develop without this intermediate stage, and miniature versions of the parent animals hatch from the eggs. In most reptiles, the embryo fully develops inside the egg and hatches just before, during, or shortly after birth. As the freshly hatched or newborn young are lung-breathers and have a firm body covering unsuitable for skin breathing, eggs or young must be laid on land. The requirements that must be met to keep amphibians and reptiles appropriately and ensure species preservation are diverse. To set up the terrarium properly, one must first learn as much as possible about the animals’ natural habitat. Even if it is not always possible to replicate the natural habitat entirely, the animal can still thrive in the terrarium, often in good health and ready for reproduction. The fundamental conditions for this are: light, temperature, air, space, and food. The dietary requirements of our terrarium animals vary greatly. Amphibians are predominantly carnivorous, while reptiles may be carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores, depending on the species. Whatever the diet may be, the essential components of the food are: carbohydrates (e.g., starch, sugars, crude fiber), fats, proteins, minerals (macro and trace elements), vitamins, and water. Carbohydrates are energy suppliers. A complete lack of carbohydrates can harm the intestinal flora and disrupt vitamin synthesis. Fats also serve as concentrated calorie carriers, providing the necessary metabolic energy for the animal's body. An important function of fats in metabolism is their ability to absorb fat-soluble vitamins and provitamins. Among the fatty acids, unsaturated fatty acids are particularly important, as they support the undisturbed development of the skin and horn scales and regulate the body’s overall water balance. The protein substances in the diet consist of various amino acids that cannot be replaced by other substances. The individual amino acids from the diet are utilized differently by different animals to build their own proteins. Among the minerals, the following so-called macro elements are important: sodium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium. Additionally, trace elements like copper, zinc, manganese, molybdenum, iodine, and iron are crucial for water balance and protein metabolism. Salts such as chlorides and phosphates must be present. A balanced composition of calcium and phosphates is especially important for bone formation and maintaining stability. The organism needs vitamins to support essential processes. Vitamins act like catalysts, meaning they influence metabolism without providing energy or serving as building materials for body cells. A healthy body can only produce some of them and not always in sufficient quantities. If they are not sufficiently available, deficiency symptoms occur. In amphibians and reptiles, several vitamin deficiency diseases are known. A lack of vitamin A, for example, can lead to eye inflammation or eye damage. Bone damage in amphibians and bone softening in reptiles arise from a deficiency of vitamin D. A lack of B-complex vitamins significantly contributes to digestive disorders, paralysis, and skin damage. To prevent such deficiencies and to be able to offer the animal optimal nutrition at all times, NEKTON has developed a range of products that enable targeted supply with various essential nutrients and active ingredients.
Electrolytes for reptiles.NEKTON-Rep Elektrolyt is an electrolyte mixture specifically designed to maintain fluid and electrolyte balance in reptiles. The body fluid in reptiles consists mainly of water and certain salts - electrolytes. Electrolytes are minerals that are electrically charged once they are dissolved in a liquid. The most important electrolytes in the body include the positively charged cations sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, as well as the negatively charged anions chloride, bicarbonate, and phosphate.
These electrolytes aid in the regeneration of nerve and muscle function and help maintain acid-base balance and water balance. Many reptiles suffer from chronic dehydration, caused by dry living conditions, inadequate drinking, low fluid intake, or illness-related fluid losses due to diarrhea or blood loss. Various types of dehydration lead to the loss of not only water but also electrolytes.
Significant water and electrolyte losses should be quickly replenished, as imbalances in the body‘s water and electrolyte balance can lead to health problems. Special electrolyte solutions are used for this purpose. Unlike mammals, reptiles can absorb water through their skin. Through baths, they absorb fluids and electrolytes dissolved in the water, this maintaining their fluid and electrolyte supply.
NEKTON-Rep Elektrolyt
contains essential electrolytes that balance fluid and electrolyte levels. This helps reptiles quickly recover and regenerate after a loss of moisture. NEKTON-Rep Elektrolyt has an electrolyte content similar to that of bodily fl uids, allowing it to be quickly absorbed and utilized by the organism.
Feed material for all reptiles and amphibians.NEKTON-Rep-Calcium-Pur is a highly effective pure calcium supplement without vitamin D3 to prevent calcium deficiency and its secondary diseases (such as rickets, deformations, softening of the shell of turtles and general growth disorders). It supports optimum development and maintenance of the skeleton and promotes a healthy calcium metabolism in all reptiles and amphibians.Calcium is one of the most important supplements. Calcium is very important not only for eggshell and bone formation, but also for other vital processes (such as muscle contractions). The calcium content in the feed is usually very low. The food insects in particular lead to a calcium deficiency if they are not supplemented. Since the animals also take up additional calcium in the wild, it must also be offered in terrarium. Females and growing animals in particular have a higher calcium requirement. In order for the body to be able to utilize calcium, reptiles and amphibians need vitamin D. There is no need to provide supplemental vitamin D through the food if the animal is offered the right amount and quality of UVB radiation. If healthy animals are sufficiently exposed to UVB radiation, there is usually no vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin precursors ingested with food (these are found primarily in plants, muscle and adipose tissue of animals) are converted under the action of sunlight (or UVB radiation) and heat in the skin into a precursor of vitamin D3 and finally in the kidney tissue into the active form of vitamin D3.The required amount of UVB radiation (intensity, lighting duration) depends on the animal species. Desert-dwelling species, for example, require much higher levels of UVB radiation.
If there is a lack of calcium, the animals often try to compensate for the calcium deficiency by substrate, which ultimately leads to severe constipation. For this reason, the calcium must not be in the substrate. Both calcium sand and bird sand are unsuitable for the terrarium. Therefore, a calcium supplement should be added to the feed regularly.
Calcium supplement for all reptiles and amphibians.NEKTON-Rep-Calcium-Pur+ is a highly effective calcium supplement with minerals, enriched with trace elements without vitamin D3 to prevent calcium deficiency and its secondary diseases. It supports optimum development and maintenance of the skeleton and promotes a healthy calcium metabolism in all reptiles and amphibians.NEKTON-Rep-Calcium-Pur+ does not contain vitamin D3 and specially developed for animals that are sufficiently supplied with UVB light in the terrarium or free-living animals with sufficient exposure to the sun (about 10 hours). These can produce the body‘s own vitamin D and therefore do not need an extra portion of the vitamin D3 in the product. Otherwise our NEKTON-Rep-Calcium+D3 is recommended.Reptiles and amphibians need less food than mammals because they have relatively low energy requirements. It is therefore more important that the food contains all the necessary nutrients. This also includes minerals and trace elements. In addition to quality food, these substances must be added. One of the most important supplements is calcium, which is very important not only for eggshell and bone formation, but also for other vital processes (such as muscle contractions). The calcium content in the feed is usually very low. The food insects in particular lead to a calcium deficiency if they are not supplemented.Since the animals also take up additional calcium in the wild, it must also be offered in terrarium. Females and growing animals in particular have a higher calcium requirement.
In order for the body to be able to utilize calcium, reptiles and amphibians need vitamin D. This can be supplied through appropriate supplements or can be formed in the skin of the animal with the help of UVB radiation. There is no need to provide supplemental vitamin D through the food if the animal is offered the right amount and quality of UVB radiation. If healthy animals are sufficiently exposed to UVB radiation, there is usually no vitamin D deficiency. Desert-dwelling species, for example, require much higher levels of UVB radiation. With a sufficient supply of vitamin D, optimal calcium absorption in the digestive tract can be expected.
Highly effective calcium supplement enriched with vitamin D3 for all reptiles. An adequate calcium supply is necessary for the development and maintenance of the skeleton in all reptiles and amphibians. With NEKTON-Rep-Calcium+D3, this is excellently ensured with regular feeding and can be used both preventively and for treating existing deficiencies.NEKTON-Rep-Calcium+D3 is enriched with vitamin D3 and two amino acids. It supports the optimal development and maintenance of the skeleton and promotes a healthy calcium metabolism in all reptiles. It helps prevent and compensate for calcium deficiency and its related diseases. NEKTON-Rep-Calcium+D3 can be easily mixed with crushed food. For insect-eating reptiles and amphibians, feeder insects are dusted with NEKTON-Rep-Calcium+D3.Amphibians and reptiles are vertebrates, like their aquatic ancestors. NEKTON-Wachsmotte breeding concentrate is a complete feed specifically designed for the rearing of wax moth larvae. This feed is easy to use and is optimally utilized by the larvae. Thanks to the valuable ingredients it contains, healthy, high-quality, and large feeder insects develop. Our wax moth breeding concentrate is rich in essential proteins, vitamins, and a wide range of minerals, including macro and trace elements. Wax moth larvae have been bred in the field of terraristics for a long time and are extremely popular feed insects for a variety of terrarium animals due to their high nutrient density and sweet taste. They are suitable for larger fish species such as cichlids, as well as for frogs and reptiles such as skinks, chameleons, and geckos.Additionally, they are also popular among birds and small mammals. Wax moth larvae are characterized by their high fat content of about 19 %, which is why it is advisable to use them as a feed only occasionally. Due to their sweet taste and popularity among many reptile species, caution is necessary, as wax moth larvae can trigger addictive behavior in these animals. Long-term feeding of wax moth larvae can lead to the animals preferring them almost exclusively.Raising wax moth larvae requires relatively little work. Wax moth breeding is highly productive because a single female can lay up to 800 eggs. The optimal development temperature for these animals is between 26 and 28°C. It‘s important to note that a high density of caterpillars can increase the temperature by up to 5°C due to their own heat generation. However, temperatures above 30°C can lead to drying out and thus cause a breeding failure. Moths mate on the first day after hatching and lay their eggs five days later. Very small caterpillars hatch from these eggs after 8-10 days. Since wax moths typically live in beehives that are in the dark, wax moth larvae should be raised in a dark environment.Within the following 30 days, the caterpillars consume large amounts of food, go through four molting phases, and grow to a size of 2.5 to 2.8 cm. Afterward, they enter the pupation phase, which can last up to 48 hours. After another 14-15 days, the new moths emerge.
